altuzarra for j.crew

i've said this before, but i'm going to make a honest effort to be more active on blogger. girl scouts honor. despite never being a girl scout... but hey, i'm a true blue thin mint fan.

i haven't liked recent designer collabs. jason wu for target. yawn. marni for h&m. bore. but i feel it is obligatory to announce the altuzarra for j.crew collaboration. i LOVE both brands. fall 2012 altuzarra  collection was one of my favorite of the whole season. though i am far from having any liquid assets to my name, i wish i could get my hands on one of these pieces.

just when i thought i couldn't love j.crew more. prabal gurung decides to do a collaboration. i'm dying and gone to j.crew heaven.

edgy americana

being in business school has resulted to so many real-world case studies. this week, my management class analyzed the private equity firm, TPG, that controlled j.crew in the late 1990s when the brand was in trouble.... the case was boring and full of financial data. but inspired me to see the direction j.crew is currently heading towards.

the analysis: i love the fall 2010 lookbook. pretty much obsessed and cannot wait for it to hit stores! lots of slouchy layers and neutrals topped with the perfectly disheveled hair that screams: i just threw this on, but i know i look fabulous.
